About the Hike:
We have two guided hike options. Hike down from the summit to the base, or hike up from the base to the summit. The Gondola will carry you one way or the other. See details below:

Option 1 (Hike Down): The group will hike ‘Summit to Base’, starting the day off with a gondola ride to the summit and descending the Crystal Mountain to Silver Creek trails.

SUMMIT TO BASE (CRYSTAL MOUNTAIN TO SILVER CREEK TRAIL) Ride the Mt. Rainier Gondola to the summit, walk the service road towards the Green Valley chairlift, take a sharp left just before the chairlift. The Crystal Mountain trail starts below Powder Bowl. Meander through ski runs, alpine lakes and an old mining area called Jim Town. Once you reach Henskin Lake, you will continue onto the Silver Creek trail back to the base area. 4.8 miles, 2,472 ft elevation loss taking approx. 3 hours to hike.

Option 2 (Hike Up): The group will hike ‘Base to Summit’ – ascending the same trail from the base area at 4,400 ft elevation to the summit at 6,872.

BASE TO SUMMIT (SILVER CREEK TO CRYSTAL MOUNTAIN TRAIL) Start hiking up the Silver Creek Trail from the base area, across Gold Hills and on to the old mining area called Jim Town. Continue on to Henskin Lake then meander through ski runs, alpine lakes and meadows. The Silver Creek Trail connects to the Crystal Mountain Trail just below Powder Bowl where you continue up to the summit ridgeline ending at the Mt. Rainier Gondola. The group will finish with a gondola ride to the base area. 4.8 miles, 2,472 ft elevation gain taking approximately 5 hours to hike.

Please select your preferred method of hiking during checkout. Ticket includes gondola ticket, guided experience and some sweet, sweet swag from our partners.
